The 60 Best PSP Games of All Time
To find out the best PSP games, you need to ask a specific group of people- those who have played until their hands hurt. We at Retro Dodo are that group. We have spent hours playing and exploring the PSP console’s game library.
Sadly, people often forget about the PSP and focus on Gameboy and Nintendo Switch Lite. We want to remind you to give your PSP some love, so it can shine once again!
Maybe we have too much free time, or we just love playing games, but we always have PSPs in our office for a quick break. But what games do we play? Which PSP games are the best?
In this post, we will answer those questions. So get ready, grab some snacks, and explore the wonderful world of the PSP!
Let’s dive into the table of contents without delay.
60. Puzzle Quest: Challenge Of The Warlords (2007)
Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords poses an interesting question: what if role-playing games were centered around puzzle-solving? The game’s unique selling point is that it is based entirely on puzzles. It’s a combination of popular puzzle games Columns and Candy Crush, where your victory rests solely on your ability to solve puzzles. The game requires you to line up skulls, collect coins, and reduce your enemy’s health bar to zero.
We understand that you might initially be skeptical about an RPG without fighting, but think back to the Pokemon Trading Card Game for Gameboy Color. It was a huge hit despite not featuring traditional fighting gameplay. Similarly, Puzzle Quest provides a similar type of thrill. While we all love the thrill of hacking and slashing, clever problem solving can be just as exhilarating. Not only that, but in Puzzle Quest, it actually increases your chances of survival and success in the game. So, it’s a win-win situation!
59. Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee 2 (2008)
Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee 2 is a top contender, earning the number 59 spot on the best PSP games of all time list. Also known as “Everybody’s Golf,” the game is a delight to play alone or with friends. The colorful courses are reminiscent of Mario Golf and offer an immersive experience. It’s easy to pick up and play, making it the perfect game to pass the time while traveling.
However, the game truly shines in multiplayer mode, allowing up to eight players to compete for the championship title. While not as intense as higher-ranking games, Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee 2 is still a well-deserved addition to any gamer’s collection.
58. Crazy Taxi: Fare Wars (2007)
Are you ready for an exciting ride? Crazy Taxi: Fare Wars combines the first two versions of this thrilling game, letting players experience some of the best taxi routes in San Francisco and New York City while jamming out to the perfect soundtrack on their PSP. And with exciting mini-games added in, you’ll never get bored!
This game is different from other racing games, in that you’re not racing against other drivers- but against the clock. Your goal? Rack up those fares and earn that cash before the clock runs out.
But that’s not all- crazy competition ensues when you connect to WiFi and go head-to-head with other taxi drivers. Whoever nabs the most fares in the shortest amount of time will be crowned champion. Will you be able to steal some from your competition? It’s like real-life taxi driving, but way more intense.
57. Bomberman (2006)
Bomberman has made it to the 57th spot on our special list of the greatest PSP games of all time! If you’ve played this game before, you know how exciting the multiplayer mode can be. The best part is that the game hasn’t changed much since the Mega Drive days, but that’s okay because it’s already a classic.
This game is a true classic that could be recreated for every gaming console and still get people excited. Your goal in the game is to easily conquer each world and move to the next one. The worlds you’ll come across range from icy terrain to sandy deserts with plenty of fire to fight your enemies.
As you progress, pick up gadgets to increase the size of your bombs and stay ahead of the game. The best bit? Once you acquire them, they’re all yours! So, you can die as many times as you like, and your gadgets will still be waiting for you when you resurrect.
PSP users have a lot to keep them occupied with a huge story mode consisting of 100 levels and a classic mode that features 50 levels from the original Bomberman. However, beware that you may become frustrated when you blow yourself up for the hundredth time in one session, but it’s all part of the game’s charm.
56. Virtua Tennis: World Tour (2005)
I have to admit, I’m no Roger Federer when it comes to playing tennis on the actual court. However, in the world of Virtua Tennis: World Tour on my handheld, I become an absolute superstar. It’s the closest I’ll ever get to competing with the pros and boy does it feel great.
What makes this game so addictive is the endless array of court styles and moves I have at my disposal. I’m able to test my abilities on all sorts of courts, and mimic the same moves as the pros. On top of that, I’m able to create my own character and take them around the world, dominating all sorts of tournaments.
Yet, there’s so much more to this game! I also have the opportunity to create my own player, who can swing a racket like no other. Winning matches, much like the beloved Mario Golf game, earns me cash that I can use to upgrade my gear or gain sponsorships.
If that’s not enough, there are plenty of fun modes that combine tennis with Fruit Ninja-esque action, and the wifi multiplayer mode allows for some seriously intense doubles action. Suffice it to say, I’m utterly hooked.
55. Crush (2007)
Have you ever heard of Escher? He’s got some crazy artwork that can play mind games with you. Well, Flight of the Conchords wrote a song about him and now, we’ve got a game that’s just as mind-bending. It’s called Crush and it’s one of the best PSP games out there.
In Crush, you play as a guy named Danny who can’t sleep and goes on a wild adventure through the levels of his own mind. You basically dive deep into Danny’s brain, unlocking secrets and solving tricky puzzles.
As you go along, you’ll notice that Danny’s really lost his marbles (and sometimes they’re literally missing). So you need to use your brainpower to locate them all over the game’s levels. But what makes Crush different from other puzzle games, is the “crushing” mechanic. This allows Danny to switch between 3D and 2D perspectives whenever he wants, opening up new areas and challenges for you to explore.
You might remember the flat 2D mechanic from A Link Between Worlds. Well, Crushing takes that to a whole new level, allowing you to move around in ways you never thought possible. With endless puzzles and challenges, Crush will keep you hooked and testing your brainpower again and again.
54. Every Extend Extra (2006)
Let’s talk about mind-bending games that will challenge you for a moment. One game stands above the rest – Every Extend Extra.
It’s not your typical space shooter game. In this game, you have to blow up your own spaceship to protect yourself from incoming attacks. This may sound insane, but it’s not–once you start playing, you won’t want to put it down.
Why is it so captivating? Timing is crucial in this game. You have to wait for the perfect moment to detonate and unleash massive chain reactions. You can take out enemies left and right, and earn sweet bonuses. But keep in mind, every explosion will cost you one life. So be strategic about when and where you use them in order to score enough points to earn an extra life for the next round.
The game doesn’t have traditional shooting mechanics, but the music is out of this world. It’s a bit of a trade-off but trust us, if you love brain-bending games, Every Extend Extra is one you cannot miss.
53. The Sims 2 (2004)
Gamers, have you ever played The Sims 2? This classic game was huge in the early 2000s and we all had a great time creating lives for our characters and causing mischief in the virtual world. But now, let me introduce you to the PSP version of the game – an adventure through Strangetown that’s just as exciting and full of features as the original PC version.
As you explore this surreal place, you can customize and create your own features, chat with the locals, and tackle various tasks along the way. The game offers a mix of mundane and mind-blowing missions, from taking care of your character’s basic needs to taking down zombies. It’s all in a day’s work, but it’s up to you to keep your character happy and sane while also unleashing your creativity and building your own bizarre world.
So, dust off your PSP and join in on the fun – you won’t regret it!
52. Metal Gear Ac!d (2004)
Our next contender for the best PSP games ever is Metal Gear Ac!d – an attention-grabbing title that replaces the letter “i” with an exclamation point. This game presents the thrilling visuals and sounds you already love from the Metal Gear Solid series, but with a twist that makes it stand out from the rest.
The story follows Solid Snake as he tries to uncover the intentions of a group of terrorists who have hijacked a plane, all in exchange for a senator’s life. It’s not too complicated, but don’t get too excited about jumping into action just yet – there’s a catch. This game is actually a turn-based card game, which combines the worlds of Metal Gear and The Pokemon TCG universe.
In Metal Gear Ac!d, players strategically plan their moves by selecting specific cards from their deck. It may seem unusual, but this innovative approach has captured the hearts of gamers for years, thanks to its addictive and dynamic gameplay. If you give it a chance, you’ll quickly realize that this game is truly unique and unlike anything you’ve tried before.
51. Up (2009)
Prepare to shed some tears as we introduce the next glorious edition to our list of top PSP games. “Up” has already won over the hearts of people and creatures from around the globe with its touching story of Carl Frederickson’s journey. This game will take you on the same heartwarming adventure, evoking those same emotions once more.
As you progress through the levels, you can control both Carl and Russel, the endearing Boy Scout who accompanies him. Carl uses his trusty walking stick to navigate through the journey, while Russel’s magnifying glass can blind enemies. The gameplay is visually stunning on the PSP, with the device reaching new highs. The mini-games, such as raft riding, make the whole experience even more thrilling. What’s more, during the game, real scenes from the iconic movie can be enjoyed.
Numerous movies to games adaptations can be a huge disappointment. Nonetheless, “Up” is an exception. If you enjoyed the movie, you will fall in love with this game in an instant. Get ready to embark on an emotional, heart-rending adventure with Carl and Russel, for an unforgettable gaming experience. Keep those tissues close!
50. Final Fantasy Tactics: The War Of The Lions (2007)
Get ready for Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions – a game that will give your brain a workout like no other. This is no ordinary RPG – it’s all about developing your characters and building a strong team, which takes careful strategizing and planning. You’ll need to collect items, choose the best party members, and boost your job ranking as you progress through each challenging level.
Each character has a unique set of skills that will be useful as you navigate the twists and turns of the game. The PSP version of the game boasts the same iconic gameplay and stunning visuals as the original PS1 version, but with reworked maps and tweaked elements for a better experience. It’s like the OG game on steroids!
To add to the storytelling experience, the game features cel-shaded cut-scenes that are visually stunning. Simply put, Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions is a visual feast and a must-play for fans of the genre. It’s the ultimate portable gaming experience that will leave you wanting more.
49. Riviera: The Promised Land (2006)
Introducing the 49th marvel on our list of top PSP games: Riviera: The Promised Land! This captivating game first appeared on the WonderSwan, an innovative handheld device created by Gunpei Yokoi, the mastermind behind the Game Boy. Today, the PSP version of Riviera is one of the most highly sought-after games on the console, thanks to its fantastic voice acting and a story that even Tolkien would admire.
You’ll encounter six charming characters, each with their own mysterious past waiting to be uncovered. They all have unique skills that will come in handy as you traverse the levels of the game. The gameplay itself has a comic book feel to it, although not as obvious as in games like Comix Zone. Riviera draws inspiration from Norse mythology, blending together dark angels, powerful spells, sharp swords, and the stunning realm of Asgard.
Can you feel the excitement building? Get ready for a thrilling adventure!
48. Marvel Ultimate Alliance (2006)
Let’s explore a unique role-playing game, shall we? You know how much we love games and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Marvel Ultimate Alliance features our favorite characters, and we often imagine them teaming up in an action-packed RPG.
Choose your all-time favorite four fighters and complete exciting challenges. Earn bonus points by organizing your team into one of Marvel’s factions- Avengers, X-Men, Defenders, and more.
The game was launched on different consoles in 2006, but the PSP version was the best handheld port. Even though the graphics were less complex, the PSP’s extensive screen was unbeatable!
In the RPG world, players can experience various endings based on which characters they include in their group. Plus, as the game advances, more fighters and new quests can be unlocked!
47. The 3rd Birthday (2012)
The 3rd Birthday offers an exciting experience and has earned the 47th spot on our list of best PSP games ever. It’s the third installment of the impressive Parasite Eve series. In the game, you’ll be controlling Aya Brea once again, but this time she’s on a new mission. Instead of being a cop, she’s a part of the skilled Counter Twisted Organization, which takes on dangerous Twisted creatures.
The game features a camera angle similar to Resident Evil 4, putting you right in the action with Aya. However, the most exciting aspect of The 3rd Birthday is Aya’s new ability to manipulate her soul during battles. She can briefly possess and control her allies to gain an advantage over the twisted opponents.
If you’re a fan of the Parasite Eve series, you’ll love this portable adventure. Don’t disappoint our expectations and give it a try!
46. Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects (2005)
Are you ready for Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects? This game is perfect for fans of classic Marvel heroes and those looking for a new cast of characters. It’s like the Marvel version of Super Smash Bros. combined with Mortal Kombat, packed with intense button-mashing attacks and fatal moves that’ll keep you on the edge of your seat!
Players can choose to play as some of their favorite Marvel characters, including Venom, Iron Man, and Wolverine. Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects was inspired by a mini comic series that was published way back in 2005.
Marvel fans who love exploring obscure characters that are part of the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe will enjoy this game. Despite receiving unfavorable reviews when it first came out, Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects is still an enjoyable game to play, especially for fans of action-packed beat-em-ups. So why not give it a try? Get ready to command your favorite Marvel heroes into battle and let the action begin!
45. Call of Duty: Roads to Victory (2007)
Join us as we explore the 45th top PSP game of all time. Call of Duty: Roads to Victory is not just a mobile version of COD3. It offers the same action-packed experience as the console game, with some tweaks to make it smoother on the smaller device.
As a soldier of the Allied forces, you’ll undertake a range of missions fighting against Nazi enemies. You’ll play as Canadian, British, and American troops as you take control of bunkers, extract secret documents, and liberate France from the clutches of the Third Reich. Get ready for an exciting showdown that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
But the real magic lies in the multiplayer mode which is impressive considering the limitations of the PSP. With support for up to six players, you can play deathmatch or capture the flag, testing your skills against gamers from around the world. Get your PSP ready for an unforgettable gaming experience.
44. Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together (2010)
Are you a big fan of Tactics Ogre: The Knights of Lodis? Then you’re going to love Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together! But fair warning, this game is not for the faint of heart. It’s designed for top-of-the-line military strategists. The battles in this game are so tough that you’ll need to use your brain to the max.
Imagine yourself moving meticulously along gridded landscapes, thinking critically about your tactics and solving puzzles along the way. And it’s not just about being a good planner – you’ll need to be quick and precise with your characters too! Luckily, the top-down view of the game lets you see the entire battlefield unfold before your eyes.
Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together is perfect for those who are looking for a real intellectual challenge. Just keep in mind that this game is not a breeze – even seasoned gamers will find it difficult.
43. WWE All Stars (2011)
WWE All Stars is one of the greatest PSP games ever made. It’s a wrestling game and it’s really good on PPSSPP, which is one of the best PSP emulators. This game is a dream come true – it’s everything you could want in an all-star wrestling game, right at your fingertips.
In the game, you get to play as some of the most famous classic characters in wrestling history such as The Rock, Undertaker, John Cena, Hulk Hogan, and many more! It’s like having your own private Wrestlemania match without all of the sweat and grime.
All Stars is like the Wrestlemania arcade game, meaning it’s not overly focused on the traditional simulated elements of the Smackdown games. Instead, it’s a fighting game that keeps you on your toes from start to finish. It’s like Street Fighter but set in a wrestling ring with mud and blood everywhere. It’s a vibe.
It’s true that everything from the entrances to the finishing moves might seem over-the-top and kind of cheesy, but that’s just part of the charm of WWE. The larger-than-life characters, the unbridled showmanship, and the sheer spectacle of it all make WWE what it is. All of those things translate flawlessly into All Stars, making it an absolute must-play for any WWE fan out there.
42. Fifa 09 (2008)
Fifa 09 is a popular football game that came out about 10 years ago. Even though I’m not a huge football fan, I know that all the major teams were included. The game had over 250 improvements from its predecessor, including a new collision detection system. Apparently, how fast a tackle was executed could lead to more red cards for players.
One of the big selling points of Fifa 09 was how realistic it was. The characters looked and moved like real players, and bigger characters could knock down smaller ones, just like in real life. However, the release of Fifa 10 made Fifa 09 less realistic in comparison.
Fifa 09 had some great features, though. One mode called “Be A Pro” allowed players to take a player from their chosen team through an entire season, playing one position and learning how to work as part of a team.
Even if you’re new to the game, you could still become a pro thanks to the special controls available. Learning how to play Fifa 09 was easier than ever before, so anyone could enjoy the game–even if they didn’t have fancy footwork.
41. Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy (2011)
Let’s talk about Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy, an RPG game. Some gamers might say “Duodecim” instead of “012”, which sounds cooler. In this game, the 12th war between Cosmos and Chaos is the main plot.
Regarding gameplay, it’s similar to its predecessor, Dissidia Final Fantasy. You’ll be fighting in a combat map, aiming to defeat your opponent and steal their bravery points. It’s pretty much like fighting with swords and powers.
But there’s something different this time- the single player gameplay is another adventure. You will have the chance to explore every corner of a game world that’s a lot like other Final Fantasy titles. You’ll engage in random events with your party and be lost in the world.
So, get ready to experience Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy- it’s going to be an exciting journey!
40. PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe (2010)
PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe is the ultimate way to play this game. The original game was okay, but the expansion pack added some excitement. However, you don’t call something “deluxe” unless it’s seriously awesome.
What makes the deluxe version so great? Well, for one thing, it includes everything in the expansion pack plus a ton of new levels and features to keep you entertained. You’ll face new enemies, dance to fresh music, and build more towers than before.
In case you’re not familiar with PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe, it’s a fantastic tower defense game where your goal is to build strong towers and stop massive beasts from getting to a particular spot. You have to protect your minions, defend your home, and use each tower’s unique abilities to defeat the monsters. This game is perfect for fans of strategy and Advance Wars.
39. Ridge Racer (2004)
Get ready to rev your engine with Ridge Racer, the ultimate racing game! With 24 circuits from the Ridge Racer series, including the classic arcade game, you’ll be drifting like a pro and racing into the sunset in no time.
What’s more, the PSP delivers stunning graphics, making classic tracks like Crimsonrock Pass look amazing on the small screen. If you’re tired of playing the same old games on your DS, add Ridge Racer to your life for never-ending gaming fun. With Time Attack modes and WiFi play for up to 8 players, you’ll never run out of fuel for your racing obsession.
But the real game-changer? The Nitrous boost. With this baby at your disposal, you’ll be drifting around corners at breakneck speeds. It’s like a dream come true! What are you waiting for? Hit the gas and let Ridge Racer take you for a joyride.
38. Persona 2: Innocent Sin (2011)
Persona 2: Innocent Sin is a strong entry in the impressive JRPG Persona series. The game features a memorable cast of characters, including the infamous dictator, Führer Hitler, who is somehow present in the fictional City of Sumaru. The story revolves around a group of high school students who use powerful warriors called “personas,” which amplify aspects of their personalities, during battles.
The gameplay is turn-based and tactical, providing gamers with intricate strategy that they’ll love. The artwork used in the in-game conversations is remarkable and adds depth to the game. What’s particularly cool about the game is the rumor system – players can spread rumors around the game world via NPCs, and they’ll eventually come true, often affecting the entire game world. This feature is a clever little detail that motivates players to seek out and converse with every character they can find.
37. The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky (2006)
At number 37 on our list of the best PSP games of all time is The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky. If you’re a fan of the series, you’re probably already familiar with this epic game. But for those of you who haven’t experienced the magic of the Liberl Kingdom yet, get ready for an adventure.
Right from the beginning, you’ll be enthralled by thrilling battles and a diverse cast of characters. But this game isn’t just about battling monsters and gathering treasure (although that’s definitely part of it). The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky has a fascinating story that even Bilbo Baggins would envy.
Don’t worry, though – there are plenty of chances to level up your characters and talk to knowledgeable NPCs along the way. And for those of you who love completing all the quests and collecting all the items, this game will keep you busy for days.
But what makes Trails in the Sky special is its captivating and impressive fantasy world. It’s the kind of game that will make you lose track of time and leave you immersed in its world even after you’ve stopped playing. So if you’re looking for a game that will take you to another realm of nerdy goodness, start practicing your spell-casting skills and get ready to journey through The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky.
36. Wipeout Pure (2005)
Wipeout Pure is an exhilarating racing game that will get your heart racing. If you’re someone who loves speed and adrenaline, but hates being held back by pesky wheels, then this is the game for you.
In Wipeout Pure, you’ll race through space with your vehicle hovering and whizzing around sharp turns that will leave you gripping your controller for dear life. And what sets this game apart are the futuristic weapons, such as lasers and missiles, which will blow your mind (and your competition!).
But the best part? When you play with friends via WiFi multiplayer, this game becomes an absolute riot. Even skilled racers won’t know who will come out on top, which makes for hours of unpredictable and hilarious fun.
With lightning-fast speeds and heart-pumping beats in your headphones, Wipeout Pure is an experience unlike any other. So fasten your seatbelt and get ready for the ride of your life.
35. Lumines (2004)
Lumines, a challenging and mind-bending puzzle game, is considered one of the best console games. What’s even more impressive is that it launched alongside the console, and it’s still a favorite among gamers worldwide.
If you’re into classic puzzle games such as Tetris, Zoocube, and Dr. Kawashima’s Brain Training, you will love Lumines. It’s a psychedelic and cerebral game that will keep you entranced.
Lumines is a game that requires mental acuity, and it centers around matching blocks. However, the game also incorporates sound and light patterns to create an immersive synesthetic experience. As you progress, the game evolves with new backgrounds and landscapes that keep it fresh.
If you own a PSP and haven’t played this iconic game, your chances of finding it are slim. However, if you haven’t experienced the pleasure of playing Lumines, we highly recommend getting your hands on a copy and giving it a try. After fifteen years since its release, Lumines remains a meticulously designed and highly entertaining PSP game.
34. Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars (2009)
I’m a huge fan of the Grand Theft Auto series, but I have to be honest – Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars isn’t one of the best PSP games I’ve played. However, it’s still a great game that’s worth giving a try.
What makes Chinatown Wars special is its ability to bring all the familiar features of the GTA universe to the PSP with a unique twist. It takes you to the gritty Triad underworld, where danger lurks around every dark corner.
Chinatown Wars is not your typical GTA game. Its overhead bird’s eye perspective sets it apart from other games in the series, but it adds a new level of depth to the game that makes it challenging and exciting.
The game’s graphics are polished and realistic, ditching the cel-shaded graphics of the original Nintendo DS release. But, it still retains that unmissable GTA feel that we all know and love.
Stop waiting and get a copy of Chinatown Wars. Hit the streets of Chinatown with all guns blazing, leave wreckage in your wake, and embrace the wild side – because that’s how true ballers roll.
33. Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness (2006)
Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness is a wild and explosive remake of the classic Disgaea: Hour of Darkness game for PSP. It’s got all the best features of the original plus some exciting new elements to take your gameplay to new heights. And did we mention that it’s a champion of people who love to dress in less?
If you’re after a game that’s wacky and wonderful, Disgaea is the one for you. You’ll find yourself immersed in a world of knife-wielding penguins and a bratty prince of darkness who will keep you entertained for hours. You won’t be able to resist calling it “crazy” over and over again.
But the best part of Afternoon of Darkness is that it’s open-ended. You can continue upgrading your characters long after you’ve finished the main story, giving you endless fun and excitement. Trust us, you won’t want to put it down.
If you’re a fan of tactical RPGs and loved the original Disgaea game, this PSP port will be right up your alley. So give it a try and let us know how much nostalgia it brings to the table!
32. Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror (2007)
Coming in at number 32 on our list of the best PSP games ever is Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror. This game takes stealth to a whole new level, as you complete nerve-wracking missions while picking off enemies. And let’s just say, it definitely lives up to the reputation of its predecessors – it’s even better!
Our favorite operative, Gabe Logan, returns, but occasionally you’ll take on the role of Lian Xing as well. Gabe is an expert at shooting around corners, using state-of-the-art technology, and infiltrating enemy bases completely blind. It’s no wonder he thrives in this type of work!
Managing a top-secret black ops team that no one knows about means making life and death decisions as easily as sipping coffee in the morning.
Beyond Gabe’s incredible skills, the graphics in Dark Mirror are breathtaking and the gameplay is supreme. As you progress through each level, you’ll have an impressive arsenal of weapons to choose from, and we guarantee you’ll be hooked.
The game allows players to control Gabe Logan (with some rare appearances from Lian Xing), who works for a covert government agency. While the game is more linear than its predecessors, there’s still a wide range of weapons and vision modes to choose from. Not to mention the ability to hide behind walls and shoot around corners!
To sum up, Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror is a must-play for any PSP enthusiast. Give it a try and thank us later!
31. Half-Minute Hero (2009)
Half-Minute Hero is now on our list of the Best PSP Games, and if you’re up for a challenge, make sure to give it a try! Designed exclusively for PSP in 2009, this game has a unique twist that will test your gaming skills.
In Half-Minute Hero, players have to complete challenges and tasks in 30 seconds or less, so you better be fast! It’s not an easy task to finish each level in half a minute, which makes the game even more exciting.
To win, you must control a hero who must conquer levels that lead to the ultimate boss battle. However, do not be fooled by the simplicity of the game; it requires all of your skills, which means you must have played games like WarioWare Smooth Moves or Majora’s Mask to have a chance.
Just like Majora’s Mask, Half-Minute Hero allows you to reset the time, but be warned: it will come with consequences. Use this feature at your own peril.
As you progress through the game, you can level up your hero’s weapons and skills after completing overworld challenges. This RPG will test your abilities and keep you on the edge of your seat until the end.
So, if you’re looking for an exciting challenge, Half-Minute Hero is the perfect game for you!”
30. Tekken: Dark Resurrection (2006)
Tekken: Dark Resurrection is number 30 on our list of the top PSP games ever made. It’s an update of the home console game, Tekken 5, but it’s perfect for playing one of the all-time great fighting games on the go.
In the game, players can compete to earn the coveted rankings of Dark Lord and Divine Fist. They can fight an epic roster of fighters along the way. When they’re not competing, they can achieve 12 new rankings in updated Arcade Mode. This will keep them occupied during long summer days under their favorite tree or a lengthy train journey.
The PSP version of Tekken: Dark Resurrection also has customizable player options. There is a mode called Tekken Dojo where gamers can take on the ghosts of other fighters in a thrilling time trial-style challenge. It’s reminiscent of Mario Kart.
Some lucky fans received a D-pad attachment for their PSP to enhance their gaming experience. Unfortunately, Europeans weren’t quite so lucky. Nonetheless, this classic fighting game is a must-play for any PSP owner looking for some intense, on-the-go action.
29. YS Seven (2009)
YS Seven is a popular game in the amazing YS series, and it was first released on the PSP in 2009. You may have heard of YS before if you read our article on the best Turbografx 16 games – but don’t worry if you haven’t, because YS Seven is just as captivating as the other games in the series.
The story takes place in the kingdom of Altago, where our heroes Adol and Dogi find themselves in trouble after trying to rescue a woman. Even good deeds can sometimes backfire.
What sets YS Seven apart from other YS games is its gameplay. Players can now choose weapons based on their damage capacity instead of constantly switching between weapons and magic. Plus, parties can have up to three members, and attacking enemies charges up skill upgrade meters that allow for epic super attacks.
If you’re already familiar with RPGs, then YS Seven should be a breeze. It offers endless hours of entertainment in the classic role-playing format. Why not give it a try and let us know what you think in the comments?
28. Ape Escape: On The Loose (2009)
Welcome to the exciting and action-packed world of Ape Escape: On The Loose! This game is a fan favorite and we’ve ranked it 28th on our list of the best PSP games ever. If you’re a fan of the series, you simply must play it.
On The Loose is much more than just a regular remake of the original Ape Escape game. It’s a portable version that lets you have fun wherever you go. To capture those funny monkeys on the run, players need to put their smarts to the test as they navigate through Spyro-like levels using a variety of gadgets and technical marvels.
And we’re not after just any monkeys here, folks. We’re chasing a monkey named Specter who has put on a special helmet and increased his intelligence and his nasty attitude. Players control the brave Spike as he tries to stop Specter from sending monkey minions back in time to rewrite history.
If you’re a fan of Space Station Silicon Valley’s graphics and love an exciting monkey chase, then Ape Escape: On The Loose is definitely the game for you! Get ready for some monkeying around and let the fun start!
27. Split/Second (2010)
Let’s talk about a game called Split/Second. Despite being labeled as Disney Studios, this game is not for the weak-hearted or Disney characters like Mickey or Donald Duck. If you enjoy reality TV shows like the Hunger Games, then Split/Second is for you. The game is based on a fictional TV program where players participate in explosive events to take down their opponents. To make this happen, players must take risks and score big in high-octane races.
Split/Second is full of surprises. Just when you think you have the track figured out, it changes right before your eyes. Players can perform daring stunts, overtake competitors mid-air, and drive like Formula 1 pros to fill up their power meter and trigger an explosion that can transform the race for everyone.
Players can create all kinds of chaos like opening up new sections of the track, blocking parts of the course, and hurling obstacles at their opponents. This game is not your typical reality TV show where dams burst and bombs fall from helicopters. Still, it’s all a thrilling experience in the virtual world of Split/Second.
The PSP version of the game has some differences from the main console versions, such as finely-tuned game mechanics and easier racing on the PSP. There is even a brand new track designed specifically for the PSP version that includes all three docks in one lap. If you want a riveting game that will keep you on the edge of your seat and your heart racing, then give Split/Second a try.
26. Mega Man Powered Up (2006)
Mega Man Powered Up is an awesome game that lets you play as your favorite robo-space-fighter. It’s even better than Buzz Lightyear! This PSP adventure is a remake of the classic Mega Man game from the SNES. If you played the original, you’ll love this trip down memory lane.
The game was released in 2006, and it’s a mix of Viewtiful Joe and Ōkami with a dash of Mega Man. The graphics are cute and chibi, just like Capcom had originally planned for the SNES game. You’ll enjoy the same incredible gameplay, though.
As Mega Man, you’ll have to save the world from Dr. Wily and his eight Robot Masters. They’re still as big and scary as ever, so watch out! In this version of the game, you can even control the Robot Masters if you figure out how to do it.
Mega Man Powered Up is a colorful and immersive game that lives up to the legacy of the Mega Man franchise. It’s the perfect game to play whether you’re on a long journey or just looking to relax. Give it a try and experience why it’s one of the best PSP games out there!
25. Killzone: Liberation (2006)
Let’s dive into Killzone: Liberation, an exclusive game that’s on the list of the greatest PSP games of all time. But be warned, this game isn’t just a way to unwind; it’s a challenging adventure that requires you to use stealth, concentration, and your reflexes to the fullest.
The narrative of Killzone: Liberation takes place eight weeks (or two months) after the first Killzone game for PS2. The game is presented with a top-down view, which gives it a nostalgic feel for fans of classic RPGs due to the PSP’s relatively small size.
If you enjoy games like Syphon Filter and any of the Metal Gear Solid titles, then you’re sure to love Killzone: Liberation. In addition to the action-packed experience of firing bullets and avoiding danger, players can collect money cases and complete various tasks to unlock and upgrade their weapons, abilities, and other items that will make their journey smoother.
Offering an exceptional value for money, Killzone: Liberation has twenty levels spread across five unique stages. So give it a try – we guarantee you won’t be disappointed!
24. Burnout Legends (2005)
Burnout Legends is an exceptional game for PSP, seamlessly blending the best elements of the first three Burnout titles. The game closely resembles Burnout 3: Takedown, although with a few minor adjustments to fit the PSP’s capabilities.
Fans of Burnout will be pleased to find all their favorite gameplay modes in Legends, including World Tour, Eliminator, and Face-Off. Winning these modes can earn you legendary cars, adding to the excitement. However, the game’s standout mode is Road Rage, in which you are rewarded for causing car crashes. Alternatively, Players can tackle the role of a cop in the Pursuit mode to take down reckless drivers.
One of the best features of Burnout Legends is the massive collection of 95 car models available to play. All the beautiful cars are from Burnout 2 and 3, ensuring hours of adrenaline-fueled fun. You can even take the exhilaration online, risking your collector car in bets against other players.
Burnout Legends is a must-have for any PSP owner. The addictive gameplay modes, coupled with the impressive range of cars, make it an absolute gem of a game.
23. LittleBigPlanet (2009)
LittleBigPlanet is a video game that many people love. It’s like being transported to a magical world, with a great story told by Stephen Fry. You just can’t help but fall in love with it! The star of the game, Sackboy, is an unexpected hero, but this PSP adventure has everything it takes to become a classic.
If you played the PS3 version, you’ll feel right at home with the mechanics of this game. It’s a sequel where Sackboy sets off on a vacation around the world. In each country he visits, he teams up with the locals to tackle challenges and obstacles. He travels from Persia to Australia, from the Alpine Mountains to China, and more.
Sackboy navigates through 23 main levels and 14 exciting mini-levels. Along the way, he collects prize bubbles of various treasures, like stickers and new costumes. But what really made this game special was the level creator. Players could design their own unique levels and share them with others for Sackboy to play. Unfortunately, Little Big Planet servers said goodbye for good in 2016.
22. Patapon (2007)
At number 22 on the list of all-time great PSP games, we have Patapon. And yes, we’ll also be seeing Patapon 3 later on! These games are pretty wild, and I still don’t quite get them, but I love them anyway.
In Patapon, you play as the Almighty, helping the Patapon tribe rise to glory once again. It’s got a similar feel to the classic Black and White game, and the gameplay is like a cross between Donkey Kong and Parappa the Rapper. To defeat massive enemies and find Earthend, you’ll need to hit your drum at just the right time. It’s so crazy that it wouldn’t be surprising to see Crush’s Danny stumble into this world.
21. Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters (2007)
Get ready to join Ratchet and Clank on a thrilling adventure in the portable game, Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters. This game may be small in size, but it’s packed full of excitement and proves that handheld titles can be just as thrilling as their console counterparts.
The graphics on the PSP are mesmerizing and will take you on a journey as you follow the duo on their mission to rescue a captive girl and take on the Technomites.
Collect new armour and upgrade your weapons as you progress through levels with a cast of unforgettable characters that will keep you coming back for more.
Even though it was released in 2007, Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters is still a classic and was even given the title of “handheld of the month” with its pint-sized adventure and new features. As a fan of the franchise, I’m happy to say that this game continues to deliver on the winning formula that we all know and love.
20. Wipeout Pulse (2007)
If you’re a fan of futuristic racing games, then Wipeout Pulse for the PSP is definitely worth checking out. This game will have you on the edge of your seat from start to finish, and is sure to get your heart pumping.
Set in the year 2207, you’re in the FX400 anti-gravity racing league, where there’s no time for relaxing – you need to keep your foot on the gas at all times. The graphics on the PSP system are really impressive, and the game looks amazing, taking you to a truly futuristic world.
But it’s not all about looks – the gameplay is what makes Wipeout Pulse really shine. Racing at high speed against eight other teams, your ship has an energy field that protects it from damage. If your energy runs out, you’re out of the game.
There are twelve tracks to race, but you can also race them backwards, effectively doubling the amount of tracks. Plus, there are plenty of extras to discover and unlock, which will keep you playing for hours on end.
So if you’re ready for an adrenaline-fueled gaming experience, Wipeout Pulse is the game for you. Get ready to feel your heart racing and your stomach churning as you speed through the tracks at breakneck speed.
19. Resistance: Retribution (2009)
Get ready, gamers, because a new PSP adventure awaits with Resistance: Retribution. This game takes place between ‘Fall of Man’ and Resistance 2 in the Resistance timeline. Are you excited to play?
One of the best things about this game is the online multiplayer mode. Up to eight players could battle each other using some of the coolest weapons in gaming history. The maps were meticulously designed with trenches and dark corners to make sneaking around and fighting even more exciting. Although the multiplayer servers are no longer available, you can still enjoy the epic story mode.
Did you know that you could use your PS3 controller to play Resistance: Retribution when Resistance 2 was in the console? The DualShock feature even worked flawlessly! This game also has a neat feature where players could ‘infect their PSP’ and experience a completely new story. These hidden gems make Resistance: Retribution an amazing addition to your PSP collection.
18. Monster Hunter Freedom (2006)
Are you ever in a bad mood and need to take it out on something? Imagine being able to slay hordes of monsters with no consequences. That’s what Monster Hunter Freedom offers.
Why play? It simplifies your life by giving you a break from mundane tasks and societal obligations. Instead, you live in constant anticipation of the next monster attack. Sure, it’s not easy, but after dying and respawning countless times, the euphoria of finally slaying a mammoth monster is like winning an Olympic gold medal.
The world map is stunning, and the gameplay is seamless. It’s a classic game that’s worth your time. Don’t wait to grab your weapon and start your monster hunting adventure.
17. Sid Meier’s Pirates! (2004)
Sid Meier’s Pirates! has secured a spot on our list, taking 17th place. As a fan of swashbuckling, I was drawn to Pirates of the Caribbean and can assure you that this game does not disappoint.
This version for PSP is a gem, merging elements from both the PC and Xbox versions while adding its own unique touch. The graphics have been enhanced for the PSP’s screen, making it feel like a genuine high-seas adventure.
You’ll have a whale of a time treasure hunting, with extra levels where you’ll need to use stealth and avoid danger as you search for the elusive X. If you’re familiar with games like Thief, you’ll be ready to employ your sneaky skills to infiltrate densely populated areas.
All in all, Pirates! is a fantastic experience. It offers all the pirate-like shenanigans you could ever desire. If only we could get away with such behavior in the real world! Arrr!
16. Jeanne d’Arc (2006)
Jeanne d’Arc has always captivated me. She’s like a mix of Final Fantasy and Holy Magic Century – a video game that was difficult to find in the UK. In this game, you become Jeanne and lead a team through an imaginary France, filled with monsters, ghosts, and strange creatures. The story of Joan of Arc is turned upside down as players battle demon soldiers who have sided with the British empire. Apparently, the Brits made a deal with the demon army leader to profit in war – how predictable.
Jeanne is equipped with a sacred armlet that bestows her with unique powers. She must utilize these abilities to crush the forces of evil in a remarkable, turn-based role-playing game that is brimming with surprises. Gameplay is unique and fights necessitate thought-provoking tactics.
However, be warned: It’s easy to lose track of time while playing this game, so if you do decide to give it a shot, make sure you take a few days off of work!
15. Persona 3 (2010)
Are you a fantasy gaming fanatic searching for the next adventure? We’ve got a treat for you – Persona 3 almost topped our list of the best PSP RPGs.
This game kicks off with players joining the ‘Specialized Extracurricular Execution Squad.’ Yes, it’s a mouthful, but it’s worth it. The plotline is one of the best any handheld game has to offer and will have you completely immersed in the mysterious world of the Dark Hour. This is a period between the end of one day and the beginning of the next, where players find themselves in a world filled with evil monsters. Suddenly, those after-school clubs of your childhood look dull.
Persona 3 is a fantastic RPG title – it’s one of our favorites for good reason. If you enjoy games with a mysterious, magical flair like the Final Fantasy series, then you will love this one.
The game showcases its combat and social elements brilliantly, and the levels are impressive too. Plus, the added touch of being able to choose your protagonist’s gender adds even more fun to the game. However, don’t expect any special perks just because of your character’s gender – it’s your skills as a player that will determine your friendships and relationships, which in turn will make you a better fighter. So get ready to explore the world of Persona 3 and show off your gaming prowess.
14. Gran Turismo (2009)
Are you tired of playing childish racing games where you throw bananas and shells at your opponents? Do you want to experience real racing action? Well, get ready to race against the toughest drivers on the track in Gran Turismo.
This game is an institution in the gaming world. I have spent countless hours racing on its tracks, and I can confidently say that the graphics are seriously impressive. The map and speed info don’t get in the way of your view of the road ahead, almost like a beautifully choreographed dance between the game and the player.
You can be spoiled for choice with 800 cars to choose from, making it almost impossible to pick just one. And with 35 tracks available, you can experience a whopping 28,000 racing combinations. You definitely get more bang for your buck with this game!
But wait, there’s more. Customization options, multiplayer modes, and exceptionally smooth graphics and gameplay that rival console quality – this game has it all. It’s no surprise that it is considered one of the best PSP games ever. So, get ready to press the pedal to the metal and experience the fun and excitement for yourself!
13. Patapon 3 (2011)
Get ready folks, because I’ll be honest with you: I don’t quite understand what’s happening in Patapon 3. But, I still love this game. It’s similar to Pikmin and Little Big Planet and is full of adorable little creatures called Patapons that are both wonderful and frustrating at the same time. But that’s what makes the game so addictive, even after hours of playing.
For those who played the previous Patapon game, you’ll be thrilled to know that Patapon 3 picks up right where it left off. You’ll cross the Rainbow Bridge and discover a new world with secrets and danger.
To give you an idea of what Patapon 3 is all about, think Donkey Konga for the GameCube mixed with Lemmings and the charm of Viewtiful Joe. You’ll lead your Patapons while drumming out beats on your PSP as they travel through the 2D world and face seven evil arch-fiends. The environments are detailed and full of obstacles, making the experience fresh and exciting.
If you’ve played previous Patapon games, you’ll be happy to know that Patapon 3 is less confusing and easier to get into. And once you get the hang of it, it’s a blast. There’s also multiplayer, which adds to the fun. It’s the perfect way to take a break from a busy workday.
12. Daxter (2006)
Daxter is hands down one of the best games for PSP out there, and you simply can’t talk about PlayStation duos without mentioning Jak & Daxter. If you’re a fan of this legendary duo, you cannot miss out on adding Daxter to your collection.
For those who are new to the game, be warned – some of the following may go over your head. If you find yourself lost, it may be time to invest in a PlayStation.
In this game, our dear Daxter is working solo as a bug exterminator and trying to find his buddy, Jak. The game also features levels that take inspiration from movies like Enter The Matrix, Fellowship Of The Ring, and Raiders Of The Lost Ark, giving gamers the opportunity to showcase some impressive Hollywood skills before taking on the villainous Krimson Guard.
Overall, Daxter has an engaging storyline that will keep you hooked. It’s no surprise that this game has earned a spot on our list of the greatest PSP games ever made.
11. Loco Roco 2 (2008)
Coming in at number 11 on our list of the best PSP games, we have Loco Roco 2 – the sequel to the original platform game released in 2006. You might be wondering how this game made it so high on the list, but the answer is simple. Loco Roco 2 is a game that can be enjoyed by anyone, regardless of age or skill level.
No matter how long you play, Loco Roco 2 promises a fun and engaging experience. In this fantastic follow-up, players control a vibrant, playful planet filled with lovable creatures. Using buttons to turn the planet and organize Loco Roco characters, gamers journey through various areas.
While some backdrops from the first game return, fans will discover new settings, characters, and abilities. Loco Roco can now swim underwater and squeeze through small spaces – who knows what other skills you’ll encounter?
Expect the same level of chaos, adventure, and unforgettable characters as before. With a ton of fun waiting around every corner, Loco Roco 2 is a must-play game for PSP fans.
10. Valkyria Chronicles II (2010)
Sega is well-known for creating great games, and Valkyria Chronicles II is no exception. Fans were worried when they found out that the sequel to the popular PS3 game would be on the PSP, but their worries were unwarranted.
The game follows the storyline of the original series, beginning two years after the second European War, in 1939 E.C. This time, players are cadets from a military academy trying to stop a group of rebels from executing a horrifying ethnic cleansing plot.
Valkyria Chronicles II is an exciting combination of Time Crisis and Final Fantasy that requires strategic thinking and cleverness to get through each level. It’s not enough to simply shoot your way through.
The game also features the same five original classes and BLiTZ combat system as the previous game, along with newly added classes and abilities that can be unlocked as you progress.
If you’re a fan of turn-based shooters that emphasize teamwork and strategic thinking, Valkyria Chronicles II is the game for you. Trust us, it’s worth it.
9. Final Fantasy 7 – Crisis Core (2007)
Final Fantasy is a game that deserves some serious attention. And one of its most impressive titles is Crisis Core for the PSP. It’s not just a game – it’s an experience.
As you’d expect from a Final Fantasy game, Crisis Core is filled with all the classic RPG elements we adore, but it also includes some real-time combat in open-world areas. Not to mention, who wouldn’t want to wield big weapons and cast magical abilities?
Follow the journey of Zack Fair, a brave SOLDIER searching for his missing comrade Genesis Rhapsodos while aiding the Shinra war effort. It’s definitely a lot to take on, but thankfully, you have other characters and Materia to help you progress and level up your abilities.
Crisis Core is set seven years before the events of FF7, and it has already sold over 3 million copies. It’s no wonder that it has solidified its place as one of the best PSP games ever made. But don’t just take our word for it – you should play it for yourself. Trust us, it’ll be an experience you won’t forget.
8. Grand Theft Auto – Vice City Stories (2006)
Do you sometimes daydream about being a criminal mastermind, stealing cars, and taking down bad guys in a virtual world? We all do, and now you can do it on the go! Grand Theft Auto – Vice City Stories has brought all your favorite console moments to the PSP, a device that doesn’t seem up to the task, yet somehow manages to pull it off.
Although the PSP may seem outdated and inadequate compared to today’s smartphones and tablets, Vice City Stories looks incredible on it. It’s an absolute pleasure to play, and it’s no surprise that it made our Retro Dodo team’s list of best PSP games.
With a cast that includes voices like Gary Busey, Luis Guzmán, Philip Michael Thomas, and Danny Trejo, Vice City Stories is the tenth installment of the GTA series and the last time these legendary actors reprise their roles. It’s perfect for gamers who want to relive the past.
Vice City Stories demonstrates the PSP’s abilities and is an engineering marvel for such a small, portable console. If you haven’t tried it yet, you’re missing out on some serious fun. So, what are you waiting for? Hop on that virtual bus and enjoy the ride!
7. Syphon Filter – Logan’s Shadow (2007)
Let’s keep the countdown going and talk about one of my all-time favorite games – Syphon Filter: Logan’s Shadow. This is the final chapter of the Syphon Filter story, and it’s a real gem. The game is so good that you might forget you’re playing on a portable system, it feels just as immersive as any console game.
Sony has always been great at stealth-shooters, and Syphon Filter is no exception. This game is special because it feels more realistic than others. When you shoot enemies, they react like real people would, making the game more believable.
In the game, you play as Gabe Logan, a highly skilled agent who must use his skills to complete the mission. Logan’s Shadow has new features like improved strafing and blind fire, which make it even better than the previous games. The game is a rollercoaster ride. It’s thrilling, full of surprises, and it’s an excellent way to end the series.
If you like games like Call of Duty or Splinter Cell, you’ll love Syphon Filter: Logan’s Shadow. Critics loved it too, and I’m sure that once you start playing, you won’t want to put it down.
6. Secret Agent Clank (2008)
Our next pick for the best PSP games is Secret Agent Clank, a solo adventure featuring the offspring of James Bond and Inspector Gadget. If you’re a fan of Banjo Kazooie and Ratchet and Clank, you’ll love this game.
The story takes place in the Ratchet and Clank universe and has all the features of the series that you know and love. However, this time Clank is the protagonist, wearing a tuxedo filled with hidden gadgets like James Bond. You’ll have to use these gadgets to overcome obstacles and complete the game.
The game has sections where you have to press a series of buttons rhythmically to sneak past enemies undetected. It’s a test of skill for gamers of all levels.
But there’s more to the game than just Clank. You can also play as Ratchet and Captain Qwark, while the beloved Gadgebots make an appearance. The game is like a reunion of old friends!
5. Castlevania – The Dracula X Chronicles (2007)
When I first played Castlevania on my GameBoy, I was completely hooked. But let’s be real, the old two-tone version can’t compare to the new version with its awesome monsters and vibrant worlds. It’s no surprise that this classic game has stood the test of time, and the latest addition, Castlevania – The Dracula X Chronicles, is an adventure like no other.
In this 2.5D remake of ‘Rondo of Blood’, our hero, Richter Belmont, is on a mission to explore dungeons and creepy castle scenes to find his beloved Annette. As players progress through the story, they can unlock additional games for even more fun.
The ultimate goal of The Belmont Clan is to defeat the powerful and ever-resurrecting Dracula. Can you do what so many have failed to accomplish? This thrilling game will have you glued to your seat from start to finish, and it’s definitely worthy of a top spot on any “best PSP games” list.
4. Kingdom Hearts – Birth By Sleep (2010)
Kingdom Hearts – Birth By Sleep is our Number 4 top PSP game. This game is perfect if you want to hack and slash your way through endless battles, or just unwind after a long day (or avoid that big deadline – who needs productivity when you have games?).
The real treat in Kingdom Hearts is the surreal and absurd mix of manga-style fighting characters and Mickey Mouse. It’s entertaining and humorous, with all sorts of Disney references and locations that will bring back memories of Castle Of Illusion.
At its core, Kingdom Hearts is about the ruler of Disney castle, Mickey, and a Keyblade apprentice, exploring a mysterious and colorful world with Donald and Goofy by their side. The game’s stars are Terra, Aqua, and Ventus, who will guide you through Neverland and the 100 Acre Wood, and encounter other beloved Disney locations.
This game is nothing short of bizarre, but it just works. If you’re up for some wonderfully weird and wacky adventure, give Kingdom Hearts a try. And if you thought Patapon 3 was crazy, you haven’t seen anything yet.
3. Tekken 6 (2009)
Tekken is an essential fighting franchise for console gamers. It’s a legendary game that’s loved by many. Tekken 6 just keeps raising the bar with its customizable characters and bigger stages with secret spots to keep the fight going. The Rage system is another new feature that causes every hit to inflict massive damage.
What makes Tekken special are its characters that we’ve all grown to know and love. Everyone from Yoshimitsu to Nina Williams is back. Though they may look different and have new weapons, they’re still the same beloved characters.
The best part of playing Tekken is its simple playability. It’s easy to pick up and quickly jump right into the action. Even if you don’t know any killer moves, you can still win battles by frantically pounding any button within reach, shouting victory cries, and snacking on a sandwich all at once.
As far as portable console fighting games go, there’s really no better option than Tekken. Don’t miss out on it!
2. Metal Gear Solid – Peace Walker (2010)
PlayStation has some of the most recognizable characters in gaming: Link for Nintendo, Sonic for Sega, and for me, it’s always been Solid Snake and his dad Big Boss. Even though Spyro and Crash Bandicoot have made an impact, they can’t compare to the smooth moves of Solid Snake.
That’s why Metal Gear Solid – Peace Walker claims a well-deserved second place on our top PSP games list. This stealthy action-adventure shooter pulls you in right from the start with its captivating cut-scenes and gameplay, which made MGS4 a fan favorite.
Players might notice some familiar features, like the ‘shoot over shoulder’ camera view and the ‘crouch walk,’ among other new custom uniforms like the ‘Sneaking Suit’ and ‘Jungle Fatigue’.
If you enjoyed playing Mission Impossible on the N64 but wished it was more like Goldeneye, then search no further than Peace Walker. The only real question is whether you’ll ever be able to put it down once you start playing.
1. God Of War – Ghost Of Sparta (2010)
Choosing the greatest PSP game of all time is tricky, but after careful consideration, we’ve made our choice – God Of War: Ghost Of Sparta. This game is perfect for fans of post-apocalyptic stories and Greek mythology.
You’ll play as Kratos, engaging in intense combat with creatures like minotaurs, gorgons, and harpies. The game is challenging, with difficult puzzles that add to the excitement.
The bosses in God Of War: Ghost Of Sparta are particularly impressive, and the game’s worlds are awe-inspiring. Can you gather all the legendary weapons and help Kratos defeat the God Of Death?
If you enjoy gaming, particularly with a dose of history and lots of button-mashing, Ghost Of Sparta is a must-have. And even if you don’t have a PSP, you can still play it on the go with the Retro CM3, which supports PSP, PS1, and N64 games.
How Many PSP Models Were Released?
There were four different versions of the PSP that came out. The first one was the PSP 1000, followed by the PSP 2000 and then the PSP 3000. Lastly, they released the PSP Go.
How Much Is A PSP?
Do you recall the PSP, the slim calculator-like device that made waves upon its 2005 release? Back then, it cost a staggering $249 each. Nowadays, though, things have changed. You can easily purchase a used PSP for as low as $40, although the price will depend on the state of the item. Should you happen to find an unopened PSP in its box, brace yourself for the hefty price tag, as it can easily soar beyond $500.
Which PSP is best for gaming?
If you’re into gaming on a PSP, you’ll know that the PS Vita is a real winner. This handheld device from Sony has loads of amazing features, a huge selection of games, and a stunning, high-resolution display. However, everyone has their own favorite PSP games. You might be a huge fan of one game that we didn’t mention, or you might disagree with our choices. Whatever your thoughts, we want to hear them. Join the conversation with us on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram, and let’s talk PSP games!
