One of the standout features of The Escapists 2 is its local two-player split-screen mode, allowing gamers to team up with a fellow inmate and work together to break out of prison. This cooperative gameplay experience, with each player taking a Joy-Con™, is reminiscent of the camaraderie found in retro gaming classics.
The game offers a variety of expansive prisons to explore, each bringing a nostalgic feel with multiple floors, roofs, vents, and underground tunnels. Players will need to adhere to prison rules, attend roll call, and perform prison jobs while secretly engineering their bid for freedom. The attention to detail in recreating the strict routines of a prison adds to the immersive retro gaming experience.
From the frosty Fort Tundra to a train hurtling through the desert, The Escapists 2 takes players on a thrilling adventure across various unique settings. This diversity in prison locations adds a refreshing twist to the retro gaming formula, making each escape attempt feel different and exciting.
