Go Vacation for the Nintendo Switch is an ambitious attempt to capture the nostalgia and charm of classic retro gaming. With its wide range of activities and vibrant in-game locations, it certainly has the potential to be a standout title for fans of vintage games.
One of the standout features of Go Vacation is its emphasis on exploration. Rather than simply selecting activities from a menu, players are actually transported to each location in-game, immersing themselves in different environments such as snowcapped mountains and bustling cityscapes. This nostalgic approach to gameplay harkens back to the days of open-world adventures, where discovering new areas was a thrilling aspect of the gaming experience.
Furthermore, Go Vacation takes full advantage of the Switch’s capabilities by providing support for a variety of Wii hardware accessories. This includes the Wii Balance Board, Wii Zapper, and Wii MotionPlus, which add an extra layer of interactivity and immersion to the gameplay. This attention to detail and commitment to providing a fun and natural control scheme will surely be appreciated by retro gaming enthusiasts who fondly remember the days of physical accessories enhancing their gaming experiences.
However, despite its commendable efforts to capture the essence of classic gaming, Go Vacation falls short in a few key areas. First and foremost, the game’s overall rating of 3.5/10 reflects its lackluster execution and underwhelming gameplay. While the exploration aspect is intriguing, the activities themselves fail to deliver the engaging experiences that players might expect.
Additionally, the lack of depth and variety in the activities may leave players longing for more substantive content. The street races, scuba diving excursions, and skydiving sessions feel repetitive and lack the excitement and challenge that would keep players coming back for more.
In conclusion, Go Vacation for the Nintendo Switch provides a glimpse into the world of retro gaming with its nostalgic approach and support for Wii hardware accessories. While its exploration mechanics and interactive controls are commendable, the overall lack of engaging activities and limited depth prevent it from truly standing out. Despite its shortcomings, die-hard retro gaming enthusiasts may still find some enjoyment in revisiting the past through this ambitious title.
The Switch is renowned in video game history for its extensive library of iconic titles, including masterpieces such as Sonic Mania Plus, Pokken Tournament DX, and Bayonetta + Bayonetta 2.
This rich collection continues to attract retro gaming enthusiasts, many of whom use emulators like Ryujinx, Skyline, EGG NS or Yuzu. These emulators enable playing classic games like “Go Vacation” on modern devices such as your computer, Android, or iOS mobile device.
However, it’s crucial to address the legal nuances surrounding emulators and ROMs. While emulators may be legal, but the situation changes when it comes to downloading and sharing ROMs. Even though people often search for terms like “Download Go Vacation ROM torrent”, “Go Vacation Switch ISO” or similar terms, these actions often conflict with copyright laws, as publishers retain rights over their games, even those no longer in circulation.
Of course, you can go the illegal route. However, doing so would be disrespectful to the tireless efforts of the developers. In addition to running the risk of downloading a file that may contain malware.
At RomsMania, we do not encourage or promote the downloading of ROMs or ISO files, not even for discontinued titles. Therefore, we do not host or link to any copyrighted content.

- Online Retailers: Websites like Amazon, Eneba or Ebay offer a wide selection of games and gaming accessories, including classic PSP titles.
- Specialized Retro Game Stores: There are online stores that sell retro videogames such as DKoldies, JJGames, Lukie Games or Level Up dedicated to selling retro video games, providing access to a variety of discontinued titles.
- Second-hand stores: Second-hand stores are also an excellent option, as they usually have a video game area where you can find games and consoles that you thought would be impossible to get. Besides, it is very likely that you have one near your home.
