If you’re a fan of the World Rally Championship and looking to immerse yourself in the thrilling world of rally racing, then WRC 6: World Rally Championship for PlayStation 4 might catch your attention. Developed by Kylotonn and published by Bandai Namco Games, this game aims to capture the essence and excitement of the 2016 WRC season.
One of the notable features of WRC 6 is the inclusion of all 14 rounds of the 2016 WRC season, including the debut appearance of Rally China. This attention to detail in recreating the real-world rally locations adds a sense of authenticity to the game, bringing the pulsating rally action to your living room.
The game boasts a roster of all the star WRC drivers, as well as a broad selection of WRC 2 teams and competitors from the Junior WRC category. This inclusion of various teams and drivers adds depth and variety to the gameplay experience, allowing players to engage with their favorite drivers and teams.
Additionally, WRC 6 introduces eSports WRC, an online competition that first launched with WRC 5 in January 2016. This feature allows players to compete against each other on an international scale, bringing the competitive spirit of rally racing to the forefront.
However, despite its ambitious attempt to recreate the excitement of the WRC season, WRC 6 falls short in certain areas. The game suffers from a lackluster presentation, with dated visuals that fail to impress. The graphics are reminiscent of early PlayStation 3 titles, lacking the polish and finesse expected from a modern racing game.
Furthermore, the controls in WRC 6 leave much to be desired. The handling of the cars lacks the responsiveness and precision necessary for an engaging rally racing experience. It feels as if you’re driving on an ice rink rather than gripping the dirt and gravel of the rally stages.
Overall, WRC 6: World Rally Championship for PlayStation 4 may appeal to die-hard rally enthusiasts seeking to complete the 2016 WRC season or engage in thrilling online competition. However, the game’s lackluster presentation and unsatisfying controls detract from the overall experience. If you’re looking for a rally racing game that captures the nostalgia and excitement of classic titles, you may want to explore other options.
