Motorcycle Club for PlayStation 4, developed by Bigben Interactive and published by Maximum Games, aims to capture the essence of classic arcade-style racing games with its emphasis on club-building, bike customization, and high-speed races. As a seasoned retro gaming enthusiast, I was initially thrilled by the prospect of reliving the glory days of fast-paced motorcycle racing, but alas, the game fell short of my expectations.
One aspect that initially caught my attention was the opportunity to build and manage my own club. This feature promised the chance to delve into the intricacies of club management, such as recruiting members, customizing their bikes, and participating in races as a cohesive unit. It offered a degree of depth that echoed the nostalgia of classic racing titles, but unfortunately, the execution left much to be desired.
While Motorcycle Club boasts a variety of authentic bikes, including nine superbikes, ten roadsters, and three custom bikes, the lackluster gameplay mechanics detracted from the experience. The controls felt unresponsive and clunky, making it difficult to fully immerse myself in the thrill of high-speed races. This unfortunate flaw significantly hindered the game’s potential to recreate the heart-pounding sensation that characterized classic racing titles.
Moreover, the race tracks, despite their geographical diversity spanning the USA and Japan, failed to evoke the same sense of excitement that their retro counterparts had once instilled in players. The lack of imaginative and visually striking landscapes diluted the overall appeal of the game, leaving me longing for the vibrant and captivating environments that were often found in classic racing games.
In terms of its nostalgic appeal, Motorcycle Club does offer a few glimmers of the past. The option to customize bikes and build a club evokes a sense of familiarity reminiscent of older racing titles. However, these elements are not strong enough to compensate for the game’s myriad shortcomings.
In retrospect, I must sadly report that Motorcycle Club for PlayStation 4 falls short of capturing the magic of retro arcade-style racing games. While the concept of building a club and customizing bikes shows promise, the lackluster controls and uninspired race tracks ultimately leave this game in the dust. With the mark of 1 out of 10, it is difficult to recommend this title to avid racing enthusiasts seeking a nostalgic experience.
The PlayStation 4 is renowned in video game history for its extensive library of iconic titles, including masterpieces such as Bloodborne: The Old Hunters, Dark Souls III, and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.
This rich collection continues to attract retro gaming enthusiasts, many of whom use emulators like Orbital PS4, PS4Emus or PCSX4. These emulators enable playing classic games like “Motorcycle Club” on modern devices such as your computer, Android, or iOS mobile device.
However, it’s crucial to address the legal nuances surrounding emulators and ROMs. While emulators may be legal, but the situation changes when it comes to downloading and sharing ROMs. Even though people often search for terms like “Download Motorcycle Club ROM torrent”, “Motorcycle Club PS4 ISO” or similar terms, these actions often conflict with copyright laws, as publishers retain rights over their games, even those no longer in circulation.
Of course, you can go the illegal route. However, doing so would be disrespectful to the tireless efforts of the developers. In addition to running the risk of downloading a file that may contain malware.
At RomsMania, we do not encourage or promote the downloading of ROMs or ISO files, not even for discontinued titles. Therefore, we do not host or link to any copyrighted content.
Fortunately, there are several legal alternatives to get Motorcycle Club relatively cheaply:
- Online Retailers: Websites like Amazon, Eneba or Ebay offer a wide selection of games and gaming accessories, including classic PSP titles.
- Specialized Retro Game Stores: There are online stores that sell retro videogames such as DKoldies, JJGames, Lukie Games or Level Up dedicated to selling retro video games, providing access to a variety of discontinued titles.
- Second-hand stores: Second-hand stores are also an excellent option, as they usually have a video game area where you can find games and consoles that you thought would be impossible to get. Besides, it is very likely that you have one near your home.
You have no more excuses to get your hands on Motorcycle Club. Also, if you like Driving games, we recommend you take a look at the other PS4 games we have available at RomsMania.
