As a seasoned retro gaming enthusiast, I have to admit that Just Dance 2017 for PlayStation 4 did not quite live up to my nostalgic expectations. While the game boasts an impressive collection of over 40 new tracks and offers access to 200+ songs through Just Dance Unlimited, the overall experience left much to be desired.
One aspect that struck a nostalgic chord with me was the inclusion of classic tracks like Queen’s Don’t Stop Me Now. It was a delightful throwback that brought back memories of jamming out to timeless tunes. However, this nostalgic callback was marred by an unfortunate lack of depth and innovation in the gameplay itself.
The game features six game modes, but none of them truly stood out or offered a fresh take on the Just Dance formula. It felt like a missed opportunity to explore new gameplay mechanics or incorporate elements reminiscent of classic games. As a result, the overall experience became repetitive and monotonous rather quickly.
In terms of visuals, Just Dance 2017 maintains the vibrant and colorful aesthetic that the franchise is known for. While the graphics are crisp and the dance routines are well-choreographed, there was nothing particularly remarkable or unique about the visuals that differentiated this installment from its predecessors.
One of the game’s highlights, however, is its community aspect. With over 118 million players worldwide, Just Dance 2017 succeeds in creating a sense of camaraderie and friendly competition among dancers. The multiplayer feature allows you to dance with friends and family, making it a great option for social gatherings and parties.
Despite these redeeming qualities, I cannot overlook the lack of innovation and the repetitive nature of the gameplay. Just Dance 2017 fails to live up to the standards set by other retro gaming classics. As a seasoned retro gaming enthusiast, I cannot fully endorse this game for those seeking a truly immersive and innovative gaming experience. It simply falls short in delivering the excitement and ingenuity that I have come to expect from retro gaming titles.
Overall, Just Dance 2017 for PlayStation 4 receives a rating of 3/10. While it offers a solid selection of songs and an engaging multiplayer experience, it lacks the depth and innovation needed to captivate seasoned retro gaming enthusiasts. As a fan of both genuine appreciation and astute feedback, I find it difficult to wholeheartedly embrace this installment in the Just Dance franchise.

However, it’s crucial to address the legal nuances surrounding emulators and ROMs. While emulators may be legal, but the situation changes when it comes to downloading and sharing ROMs. Even though people often search for terms like “Download Just Dance 2017 ROM torrent”, “Just Dance 2017 PS4 ISO” or similar terms, these actions often conflict with copyright laws, as publishers retain rights over their games, even those no longer in circulation.
Of course, you can go the illegal route. However, doing so would be disrespectful to the tireless efforts of the developers. In addition to running the risk of downloading a file that may contain malware.
