Wanted Corp for PlayStation 3 offers players the chance to step into the shoes of bounty hunters in a futuristic, sci-fi world. As the seasoned retro gaming enthusiast that I am, I was excited to dive into the nostalgic vibes reminiscent of classic games. However, while the game does have moments that evoke a sense of retro charm, it falls short in several key areas.
The premise of Wanted Corp is intriguing, with players hunting down ruthless fugitives who have escaped from a crash-landed prison ship on an alien planet. The ability to switch between two characters, each with their own unique abilities, adds some depth to the gameplay experience. Whether playing solo or teaming up with a friend locally or online, the cooperative gameplay modes provide a welcome dose of multiplayer fun.
Unfortunately, the execution of Wanted Corp leaves much to be desired. The graphics, while serviceable, don’t quite capture the magic of retro gaming aesthetics. The levels lack the intricate details and creativity that make vintage games memorable. Additionally, the controls feel clunky and unresponsive, lacking the precision necessary for a truly enjoyable gaming experience.
One aspect that could have provided a nostalgic feel is a well-crafted soundtrack. However, Wanted Corp falls short in this department as well. The music is forgettable, failing to create an immersive atmosphere that draws players into the game’s world. A missed opportunity to tap into the power of nostalgia and enhance the overall experience.
On a positive note, the game does offer a decent amount of content to explore. With multiple levels to conquer and a variety of enemies to defeat, players can find some longevity in their quest to capture the fugitives. The inclusion of leaderboards adds a competitive element, giving players a chance to showcase their skills and strive for the top spot.
In conclusion, Wanted Corp for PlayStation 3 attempts to capture the essence of retro gaming with its bounty hunting premise and cooperative gameplay modes. While it does have moments that evoke a sense of nostalgia, it ultimately falls short in several key areas. With mediocre graphics, clunky controls, and a forgettable soundtrack, the game fails to fully embrace the magic of vintage gaming. Despite its potential, Wanted Corp receives a lackluster rating of 3 out of 10.
The PlayStation 3 is renowned in video game history for its extensive library of iconic titles, including masterpieces such as JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure All-Star Battle, Sonic Unleashed, and God of War: Ascension.
This rich collection continues to attract retro gaming enthusiasts, many of whom use emulators like RPCS3, RetroArch, BizHawk or EmuPs3-Ps3. These emulators enable playing classic games like “Wanted Corp” on modern devices such as your computer, Android, or iOS mobile device.
However, it’s crucial to address the legal nuances surrounding emulators and ROMs. While emulators may be legal, but the situation changes when it comes to downloading and sharing ROMs. Even though people often search for terms like “Download Wanted Corp ROM torrent”, “Wanted Corp PS3 ISO” or similar terms, these actions often conflict with copyright laws, as publishers retain rights over their games, even those no longer in circulation.
Of course, you can go the illegal route. However, doing so would be disrespectful to the tireless efforts of the developers. In addition to running the risk of downloading a file that may contain malware.
At RomsMania, we do not encourage or promote the downloading of ROMs or ISO files, not even for discontinued titles. Therefore, we do not host or link to any copyrighted content.
Fortunately, there are several legal alternatives to get Wanted Corp relatively cheaply:
- Online Retailers: Websites like Amazon, Eneba or Ebay offer a wide selection of games and gaming accessories, including classic PSP titles.
- Specialized Retro Game Stores: There are online stores that sell retro videogames such as DKoldies, JJGames, Lukie Games or Level Up dedicated to selling retro video games, providing access to a variety of discontinued titles.
- Second-hand stores: Second-hand stores are also an excellent option, as they usually have a video game area where you can find games and consoles that you thought would be impossible to get. Besides, it is very likely that you have one near your home.
You have no more excuses to get your hands on Wanted Corp. Also, if you like Action games, we recommend you take a look at the other PS3 games we have available at RomsMania.
