The stakes were high, with Tequila’s ex-wife being kidnapped by the Russian mob, but the execution of the story failed to create the emotional connection that would have elevated the game’s overall experience.
Ultimately, Stranglehold for PlayStation 3 receives a rating of 3.5 out of 10 in my book. While it captures the essence of John Woo’s action films and delivers a nostalgic feel through its visuals and Massive Destructibility system, the lackluster gameplay and uninspired storytelling prevent it from being a truly memorable experience. It’s a game that will leave retro gaming enthusiasts like myself yearning for more, but ultimately feeling a bit disappointed.
