Steal Princess for the Nintendo DS is a 3-D puzzle platformer that aims to combine action and puzzle-solving elements. The story revolves around Anise, a young thief who accidentally stumbles upon a palace filled with demons. She must navigate through over 150 levels, each with its own unique challenges and strategies, in order to rescue the prince from these vile creatures. While the premise is intriguing, the execution leaves much to be desired.

One of the game’s strengths is its simple yet deceptively complex design. The isometric plane adds a layer of depth to the gameplay, requiring players to jump, swing, climb, and attack in order to progress. It is a refreshing twist on traditional platformers and adds a bit of novelty to the experience.

However, the gameplay itself feels clunky and lacks polish. The controls can be unresponsive at times, leading to frustrating moments of mistimed jumps and missed attacks. Additionally, the difficulty curve is uneven, with some levels being too easy and others bordering on unfair. This inconsistency detracts from the overall enjoyment of the game.
