Pursuit Force: Extreme Justice for PSP takes the over-the-top action of its predecessor to new heights. Players step into the role of a commander, responsible for tracking down and apprehending five hardcore street gangs in and around Capital City. As a member of the elite Pursuit Force unit, players must navigate through land, air, and sea in their quest to rid the city of crime.
One of the standout features of Extreme Justice is the introduction of four new playable characters. Each character brings a unique skill set and personality to the table, adding depth to the gameplay experience. Additionally, the game offers an impressive arsenal of 12 different vehicle types, including hovercrafts and boss vehicles. These vehicles are specifically designed for boss encounters, making each mission feel distinct and exciting.
With more than 50 criminal cases spread across seven distinct environments, Extreme Justice offers plenty of content to keep players engaged. The game's graphics and level design are reminiscent of classic titles, creating a nostalgic feel for retro gaming enthusiasts. The developers at Bigbig Studios have clearly put effort into crafting an immersive and visually appealing experience.
However, despite its potential, Pursuit Force: Extreme Justice falls short in a few areas. The controls can feel clunky and unresponsive at times, hindering the overall gameplay experience. Additionally, the multiplayer capabilities, while a welcome addition, can be hit or miss, with instances of lag and connection issues.
Overall, Pursuit Force: Extreme Justice is a mixed bag. It excels in delivering fast-paced, over-the-top action and introducing new characters and vehicles. The nostalgic feel and immersive environments enhance the retro gaming experience. However, the shortcomings in controls and occasional multiplayer issues prevent it from truly shining. Retro gaming enthusiasts may find enjoyment in revisiting this title, but it may not captivate new audiences.
